elise & alfie’s wedding

Summary

Take a sneak peak at Elise & Alfie’s beautiful medium sailcloth summer wedding in Hertfordshire.

Read through Elise’s insight to creating a truly magical day, and perhaps take inspiration from the gallery
for your big day, as this wedding was truly amazing.

Best Memory of The Day

The last hour of dancing was fantastic. The dancefloor had been packed all night (mainly I think because we both had been on it all the time!) and the last hour’s energy and love was overwhelming! Moving between groups, singing along to great songs, and knowing that everyone there was one of your favourite people, was brilliant.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TOP TIPS FOR THE DAY:

Shared Google Sheets spreadsheets. We had a ‘Logistics’ spreadsheet incl timings and main activities for the days preceding the wedding, a detailed tab for the running of the day (with columns for each ‘core’ person like groomsmen/bridesmaids/etc). Everyone had the spreadsheet on their phones which meant if anyone was nervous, they could rely on the spreadsheet.

Being organised in the run-up to the event not only relaxed us, but also relaxed those around you. If you are confident that you can pull off your day, then that rubs off on those around you too, and they will be able to enjoy the day more as well.

SHOUTOUT TO YOUR FAVOURITE WEDDING SUPPLIER

The venue was magical! It looked incredible and Laura who manages the site was amazing from start to finish.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR WEDDING DAY VISION

We wanted a very personal, colourful, relaxed, fun day. From the ceremony to the first dance, we liked changing some of the traditions We put a lot of thought into how we could make every part of the day as personal as possible. We also needed a venue which would allow us to do that – which the beautiful Brook Farm did.

IF YOU HAD YOUR TIME AGAIN WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?

WHAT MUSIC FEATURED ON YOUR BIG DAY?

For the live music we had blues/funk covers of popular songs, mixed in with covers from Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, etc. For the DJ we had a few pre-chosen songs (mainly 90s/early 00s RnB/Pop) however found that the songs we chose were the ones where the most people would leave the dancefloor! So perhaps trust your DJ :).
