Tipis vs Sailcloth Tents

1 TIPI - Seats 70 & a dancefloor

Tipi or not Tipi?

Our tipis (teepees / tepees) have a rustic look and make an inspired choice for any event. Whether you are planning a unique festival wedding or corporate event, these beautiful structures blend perfectly with natural settings due to their tan canvas and wooden pole structure. We provide Tipi Hire across East Anglia but have recently travelled as far as Italy to create stunning outdoor spaces for our customers. Paired with our rustic furniture, woven flooring and fire pits, they evoke a relaxed atmosphere for any event.

Alternatively our Sailcloth tents are elegant, light filled structures that glow beautifully at night. Sometimes known as Sperry or Tidewater tents, they are our newest style of tent and have proven to be a very popular alternative to the Tipis. Sailcloth tents have a very different look to the tipis and are available in varying sizes for all scales of event. Various finishing touches such as uplighters and festoon lights can be added, projecting light into the canopy at night for added ‘wow’.

See below a more in depth look at each of our products and why they may be the right choice for your event.

Tipis – Rustically Stunning

About
Spacious and flexible, our tipi tents cater for just about any size and type of event. The ability to raise the sides makes it possible to link the tipis to each other, creating a single larger space. All manner of configurations are possible, and there’s no limit to the number of tents that can be linked together. Whether you’re having an intimate party for 50, a wedding for 100, or a corporate event for 500 or more, there’s a configuration of tipis that will work perfectly for you. Take a look at our tipi pricing card for general pricing and optional extras.

Tipi Hire The Tipis offer great flexibility when it comes to design in comparison to our Sailcloth Tents. Larger events will normally require multiple tents,  linked together in a variety of ways to create unique shapes and interesting layouts. This can be a great way to maximise the space inside the Tipis for smaller locations or to create bespoke layouts for dining / performance areas. We cater for most event types ranging from birthday parties and weddings to corporate events and festivals. Catering tents can be linked onto the Tipis in the colder months to minimise heat loss and we have a smaller chill out tipi (Kung), which can be linked onto your main tipi to create a separate bar / chill out area for your guests. In addition we have an even smaller Nimbus canopy that can be used to create beautiful covered outdoor spaces for bands, bars, food service areas or simply some extra shelter.

Custom decoration is a great benefit of this type of tent. Due to the unique structure of the Tipis you can easily add your own personal touches by hanging ornaments, making decorations and more. Transform your Tipi by creating hand made finishing touches to compliment the rustic look and make the space your own. Festival style weddings are where the Tipis come into their own in comparison to the Sailcloth Tents. The unique aesthetics really compliment this style of wedding, with their quirky, natural look really adding to the rustic / boho style. Tipis look great at any style of wedding and can be pitched almost anywhere, adding to the list of custom options and layouts available for your special day. On setup you can choose to have the sides up to open up the tipi and let in more light, or down to make a warmer, more secluded area.

Another great aspect of the tipis is their ability to house an open fire pit, venting at the top of the tipi allows the smoke to escape leaving you to enjoy the warmth and atmosphere of an open fire inside. Their ultra durable canvas can withstand high temperatures and is fire retardant to a high standard so that they can safely house our fire pits, find out more about how are Tipis are made. Fire pits look stunning at night and make great centre pieces for social spaces, bring them inside the tipis and enjoy sitting around the fire with your friends and loved ones.
