Even though the weekend may have seen a bit of rain, after the rain there came a rainbow. Which brought lots of smiles and laughter to Bluegate Farm in Capel St. Mary last weekend. 
Due to the difficult times and events of 2020, we didn’t quite think we would ever make it and put on the Showcase, however for yet another year running, the annual Tipi and Sailcloth Showcase was a great success.
On the first day of the Showcase, we thought it would be a complete wash-out and that no one would show up… how we were wrong! Guests were showing up and filling up the parking spaces instantly.
The rain did not stop people from attending, as of course all the suppliers were covered by our range of tipis and sailcloth tents, to provide some shelter and atmosphere for our guests.
We also had the opportunity to get interviewed and featured on BBC Look East, which was not only great publicity for us, but also to showcase all the wonderful suppliers who attended.
Due to the heavy rain on the Saturday, we powered the event with diesel generators, however, as the sunshine came out for the final day of the showcase on the Sunday, the whole event was powered by solar generators; which we thought was pretty awesome.
Over the course of the weekend, we had just over 230 people attend the showcase which was a great success and turnout for not only us, but also for the 26 suppliers who had the opportunity to showcase their business and what they can do for a range of different events, especially weddings.
Part of what makes the Events Under Canvas Tipi and Sailcloth Showcase so special each year is that we have never charged any of our suppliers for being at the event and advertising their business. Our process is very unique by choosing suppliers whom we believe really work with our ethos as a business and showcase who we truly are. This therefore creates such a supportive and positive atmosphere for not only the suppliers but also for the guests, and nothing is over the top or ‘salesy’.

Overall, the 2020 Showcase was a great weekend and we had such a great response from all our customers and suppliers. There was a lot of hope for the coming event season, and all the suppliers were extremely happy to be back talking to customers about their forthcoming events.
Well that’s it…another Tipi & Sailcloth Showcase over for yet another year. Fear not however, we have some great news! As we are all about planning ahead for future events, we already have the dates lined up for 2021’s Showcase. So make sure to keep the 17th and the 18th of April next year free in your diaries.
