Grow your own talent; it’s a no-brainer

Jack joins as our latest Apprentice

One of our core values is investing in homegrown talent—people with a genuine passion for what they do, a thirst for knowledge, and the drive to grow with us. Rather than only seeking external hires, we’re proud to focus on bringing people up through the ranks and fostering a culture of continuous learning and opportunity.

A key part of this strategy is our commitment to apprenticeships. We believe that the best way to nurture future leaders is by giving them real-world, hands-on experience from day one, so they can grow with the company and become invaluable members of the team.

After throwing himself into one of our temporary summer roles, Jack joins us as our newest apprentice as a Trainee Team Leader. It’s an 18 month course where we’ll train him on the job, and he’ll shadow other team leaders to learn the necessary skills. Jack has been a great team member since day one and we spotted his potential early on. It’s important to us that as a company we can offer young people opportunities to get on and up the career ladder, especially when we feel they fit our company ethos well.

Sacha’s Journey: A Homegrown Success Story

Sacha’s story is a perfect example of our commitment to developing homegrown talent. She joined us straight out of school, eager to take her first steps in the working world. Starting in the sales team, it didn’t take long for her to stand on her own two feet, quickly proving herself as a key asset to our business.

Her friendly, can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile made her an invaluable member of the team. But it wasn’t just her people skills that set her apart—Sacha quickly became a fountain of knowledge when it came to our products and services.

As her confidence grew, she began taking on more responsibility, including conducting site visits and working out what would work best for our clients’ outdoor events.

Now, you’ll often see Sacha confidently driving around in one of our company vehicles, independently visiting event sites to ensure everything runs smoothly for our clients. Whether it’s measuring up for our luxury marquees or helping clients visualise the perfect layout for their event, Sacha has become an expert in understanding and delivering on their needs.

Her journey is a shining example of what happens when we invest in homegrown talent—she’s grown into a confident, capable professional who plays a critical role in delivering the exceptional service our clients expect.

Why We Embrace Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships allow us to take on motivated individuals like Sacha and Jack, who may not have formal experience, but who are eager to learn and grow. By offering tailored, on-the-job training, we can provide them with the skills and experience they need to thrive.

For us, apprenticeships aren’t just about filling roles—they’re about shaping the future of our business. When people grow with us, they don’t just gain skills; they become part of our culture, learn our values, and help us innovate for the future. By investing in them, we’re also investing in the long-term success of our business.

A Win-Win for All

Investing in homegrown talent is a win-win for everyone. Team members like Sacha gain the skills, confidence, and opportunities to build a meaningful career, while we benefit from their passion, expertise, and loyalty. Apprenticeships and internal development are at the heart of this, allowing us to cultivate a workforce that understands our business inside and out.

By promoting from within and investing in the growth of our team members, we not only create a positive work environment, but we also ensure that our company is built on a foundation of trust, experience, and shared success.

So in summary, we’d recommend all companies embrace apprenticeships and grow your own talent. It really is a no-brainer.
