KATIE & JAMES’ TIPI WEDDING

Summary

Katie & James booked 2 tipis and a kung to create this truly stunning wedding on the meadow at their family farm.

Take a look at these beautiful images of their special day.

At Events Under Canvas, we love nothing more than creating the perfect wedding and with our range of tents, we have something for everyone.

Best Memory of The Day

“Our dog Edward was our ring bearer & he was such a good boy the whole day. He wore a suit with a beautifully multi-coloured bow tie & he made everyone laugh as he kept walking on the train of my dress and making me trip up, that’s a memory we won’t forget! We will always treasure him being such a special part of our day.”

TELL US ABOUT YOUR ORIGINAL WEDDING DAY VISION:

We had always pictured our wedding day as a rustic, country farm wedding. Both of us fell in love with the tipi’s and knew it would be the perfect set up to complete our landscaped meadow on the Hammond family farm. James had worked hard on the meadow for 10 months, digging out the pond, reseeding the grass & building a pontoon with his now brother-in-law!

We envisaged a wobbly path in between naturally grown long grass and wild flower with an archway to frame the whole scene, the pond glistening next to the walk-way to the entrance of the tipi’s and just all round fun decoration with brightly coloured flowers, classic cars & of course, tractors!! We are so thrilled that everything we imagined our day to be came true.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR TOP TIP FOR THE DAY:

Make sure to eat breakfast, lunch & dinner – even if you don’t feel hungry. Both of us tried to get our hands on the hog roast but never got a chance as everyone wants to talk to you, make sure you say to your guests you must go and eat!

WHAT MUSIC FEATURED ON YOUR BIG DAY?

We had an amazing saxophone player when all of our guests returned from the church, he played love songs, upbeat songs & all round was a great musician to enjoy drinks on the lawn. Murphy’s Lore are a brilliant folk band who get everyone on the dance floor of all ages & genres and they kicked off our early evening celebrations.

Pirate Joe & The Foreign Locals are pure entertainment, they do brilliant covers of well known songs as well as their own and they finished off our evening reception with a bang!

IF YOU HAD YOUR TIME AGAIN WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?

Ask the weatherman for a sunnier day!!? ..No, there’s nothing we would change about our day, it was everything we had imagined it to be. It showed both our personalities, had its quirks & the day wouldn’t be your own if everything was perfect!
Just a massive thank you to Events Under Canvas for making our vision come to life. Your whole team from the first time we called up to enquire has been brilliant. You are all so welcoming and happy to help with any query or change we made. We can’t recommend you enough.

FAVOURITE & OTHER SUPPLIERS YOU WOULD LIKE TO MENTION IE TABLEWARE, CAKE, MAKE UP ETC?

We couldn’t possibly pick a favourite, all the suppliers made our day so special! We can’t thank them all enough and we are proud that everyone we used was from Norfolk & Suffolk. Cosy Tea Party, Norfolk for hiring of signs, blossom trees etc. Maxine from Bridal Beauty, Norfolk for hair & make up. Angel Cake Tearooms, Norfolk for our wedding cake. Frank Hill at The Railway Tavern, Mellis Suffolk for our bar. Peter Havers from Athelington Hall, Suffolk for our Hog Roast in the evening. Lavender & Jude, Suffolk for my wedding gown.
